1800-HIDE-YOURSELF

1800-HIDE-YOURSELF is a hotline selling products that help you avoid discrimination - by disguising whatever it is you're being discriminated against for. Press 1 for your sexual orientation. Press 2 for your religion. There's an option for all six.

The premise is deliberately outrageous, because outrage is a hook. Keep someone on the line long enough and you can land the real point: you can't hide who you are, and you shouldn't have to.

SBS are one of Australia's most inclusive employers, and they wanted people to know it before they applied. HostHAVAS made a series of films, which I helped write and edit. I wrote and produced the hotline to run alongside them.

Then the pandemic took the jobs the whole thing existed to advertise, and the lot was shelved. The films and the hotline are below. Neither has ever run.
